Un día de mucho viento, se produjo una explosión en una central nuclear que provocó el vertido de fuertes dosis de radiación sobre muchas personas. Una de estas personas era un minero del carbón llamado Chelnov. Cuando sobrevivió al mortal accidente, se vio poseído por poderes anormales y al darse cuenta de ello, una organización secreta busca aprovechar esas habilidades para sus propios fines malvados.
