A diferencia del primer Drabon Ball Z lanzado, los elementos de este juego son bastante similares a los de la serie But?den. Una de las características principales es que cada personaje tiene su propia historia. Cada uno de los 10 personajes jugables tiene su propio campo de batalla y varios personajes de la serie que no son jugables en el juego aparecen en los decorados.

Este juego sigue la tradición de Heroes of the Lance con una vista orientada a la acción de desplazamiento lateral, una distinción con los juegos de rol estándar de GoldBox. En cuanto a la trama, sigue de cerca los módulos de novela / juego escritos por Weiss / Hickman. Tomas el control de un personaje a la vez, y cada héroe tiene diferentes habilidades.

After Maroc the mage defeated the Lord of Chaos a new power rose, Morog the Shapeshifter Witch Queen of the North. Morog seeks to recover the five crowns of Dragontorc in order to remake the Torc of power. Maroc has to find the remaining crowns and defeat Morag to save the realm. Gameplay is similar to the predecessor Avalon, where the player controls Maroc's astral projection and the projection can only act or move through the use of spells. A new feature is that other characters can now be recruited to your cause. Enemies will attack the projection and drain its energy which can be replenished with a spell, if depleted the projection is destroyed and the game reverts to Maroc's physical body, ready for another go.
